Dear Chapter Friends and Supporters,

I hope this message finds you safe, secure and healthy.

Although we are all in some new phase, and there appears to be a movement toward a “recovery”, the Chapter is unable to provide an Annual Conference this year in Burlington Vermont.

The Executive Committee, with considerations from the Annual Conference Committee, decided to postpone the Annual Conference until August 2021. Gene Richards and our friends in Vermont have graciously agreed to be the host city for the 2021 event.

Our friends in Buffalo, who had been slated to host the 2021 Annual Conference, understood our predicament and offered to host the Annual Conference in 2022.

To supplement all of our needs to share ideas and discuss Airport Issues, the Chapter will develop and host a “Virtual” Conference later this summer or early fall. We have had success with our “Summit” meetings, bringing nearly 100 people together for each 90-minute session. This experience will help us develop  virtual general sessions, focused on today’s issues, at a time when we need a collaboration of ideas. These sessions may be 60 – 90 minutes long, held once per day, over a period of time. Perhaps we will host an academic session in the morning and a general session in the afternoon. Currently, we are brainstorming and would love to hear your thoughts.

If anyone cares to help develop and join the “Virtual Conference Committee” please reach out to [email protected].

We now have renewed energy directed toward an exciting 2021 as we plan for an Airports Conference in Hershey PA on March 29-31, 2021, and our International Aviation Snow Symposium in Buffalo on April 17-21, 2021 and our Annual Conference in Burlington Vermont in August. (day to be determined) We look forward to the return of these events and hope to see all of your faces (not masked) then.

Respectfully submitted,

Carlton Braley Jr., A.A.E
2020 NEC/AAAE Chapter President
