Northeast ChapterOur PurposeThe Northeast Chapter, American Association of Airport Executives (NEC/AAAE) serves to support and develop leaders in the aviation industry through the creation of networking and professional development opportunities that bring added value to our members within an environment of integrity and camaraderie. The NEC aides in the continuing development of the American Association of Airport Executives (AAAE) by fostering a greater understanding and knowledge of airport issues among our members.
Our HistoryThe Northeast Chapter, American Association of Airport Executives was formed to promote a greater understanding of airport-related leadership, management, and growth opportunities. The NEC was founded as the first Chapter in 1957 at the American Association of Airport Executives conference in Houston, Texas, by Col. Vincent Carson, James F Byrne, Ed Petro, Wilfred Wiley Post. The NEC’s first semi-annual meeting was in January 1958 in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. The NEC was formed to assist in the further development of AAAE and to foster better understanding of airport related problems within the geographic confines of the chapter, which include the states of Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Connecticut, New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland, Virginia* and District of Columbia; the Canadian provinces of Quebec, Newfoundland, New Brunswick and Nova Scotia, and the countries of Europe. Today, the NEC is comprised of professionals in airport management, vendors, consultants, and suppliers. AAAEThe American Association of Airport Executives is the world’s largest professional organization for airport executives. AAAE represents thousands of airport management personnel at some 850 airports and hundreds of companies and organizations that support airports.
